Your post on par sheets (under the hood) suggests that slot machine programming uses the expanded reel strip (virtual reel) to control (or program) the desired payback%. It is also my understanding that higher demon slots (i.e. $25 and up) are typically programmed for a higher payback% then lower denom slot – say, for example – $1 slot machine. Every slot maker creates a 'par sheet' that lists the symbol frequency and the paytable. This allows the payback to be calculated, and a programmer to write the computer code. Slot manufacturers guard these par sheets religiously, for no good reason. Symbolizing the Game's Design. PAR sheets are generally confidential information, as they are effectively the secret sauce of the game's design. They can convey how often a bonus is expected to trigger, the average bonus payout, the average expected line hit and more. Understanding slot machine par sheets.
